Patients who have an abnormal EKG which demonstrates a conduction abnormality may be eligible for cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) or bi-V pacing. This procedure is combined with either a pacemaker or ICD implantation. Bi-v pacing often results in an improvement in a patient’s heart failure symptoms and should be used in conjunction with optimal medical therapy.
